Women's History Month: Author Patricia Auspos, "Breaking Conventions"
Join author Patricia Auspos as she discusses "Breaking Conventions: Five Couples in Search of Marriage-Career Balance at the Turn of the Nineteenth Century."
This compelling book explores five marriages that defied societal norms over a century ago, when well-to-do white women weren’t expected to have careers—and career women weren’t supposed to marry. These couples challenged gender roles, redefined partnership, and struggled to create what we now call “dual-career marriages.” Their stories offer both inspiration and cautionary lessons for today. Books will be available for sale and signing.
