Queens Public Library Mail-A-Book Services are available if you cannot get to your library due to age or disability.

Mail-A-Book

Queens Public Library’s Mail-A-Book Service offers homebound customers the convenience of having library materials delivered to their door free of charge. Customers are eligible for service if they live, work or own property in New York State. Caregivers and family members may also be eligible for membership.

Available materials include hard cover and paperback books in large print, regular print, and audio formats, movies on DVD, and music on CD.

Mail-A-Book serves all age groups with books and movies available for children and young adults. Customers simply request specific titles or indicate their subject or language preferences; materials are then sent to them through the U.S. Postal Service in zippered canvas bags. Return postage is included.

To further meet the needs of Older Adults as well as the homebound, Queens Public Library is offering innovative virtual interactive programs,by teleconference and WebEx. Mail-A-Book, in partnership with Older Adult Services, strives to promote social interaction and lifelong learning opportunities with a host of engaging library programs.

Educational, cultural,and health related webcasts are accessible from your computer or smart device by clicking on a link provided on the library’s program calendar or by requesting access numbers or links via email (mailabook@queenslibrary.org).

New York history, short story, and book discussions are offered in addition to lectures and discussions about health, history, music, art, and literature. We even play bingo, crossword puzzle, and trivia games over the phone! Art history lectures and Creative Aging series learning art courses are offered are part of our virtual offerings.

A valuable resource to those unable to fully utilize traditional library services, these sessions facilitate social networking by allowing users the opportunity to share information and alleviate loneliness.
