Are you interested in getting your High School Equivalency diploma, but you're not sure where to start? Young Adult Learning Services (YALS) is here to help! This program is open to students ages 16 to 24, and offers four days of classes a week, as well as one day of service learning and job shadowing to help build your resumé.
When you complete YALS, you'll be able to take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) to determine your eligibility for High School Equivalency. Participants must commit to attending all classes, case management sessions, and job shadowing/internship sessions.

Work towards your High School Equivalency in a supportive, collaborative, and holistic environment with YALS. YALS offers:
- Classes in the 4 GED subject areas (Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies), with one day of case management a week
- Free transportation with a complimentary Metro Card
- Paid internships, college tours and job readiness programs
- Small tutorial groups for reading, writing, and math
- Independent study options using computer software, audio, and other multimedia available at QPL
- Stipends, field trips, and additional incentives
- Workshops for job readiness and leadership skills
- Referrals for internships and employment
- Individualized attention from supportive, caring instructors and case managers

YALS offers classes year-round with open enrollment. Students can preregister at any time for the upcoming semester. Complete the preregistration form below and you will be contacted to schedule your pre-test.
