Brill-iant! The Songwriters of NYC’s House of Hits with Willa Bassen

Enjoy the music of Burt Bacharach, Bobby Darin, Neil Diamond, Carole King, Neil Sedaka, and more. All born and raised in the five boroughs, they found their way to the fabled Brill Building at 1619 Broadway to write the songs that defined pop music for generations. Songs include “All Shook Up,” “Dream Lover,” “Save The Last Dance,” “I’m A Believer,” “Do Wah Diddy” and “Do You Know The Way To San Jose?” Willa Bassen has worked with such luminaries as Harry Connick, Jr., Keith Richards, and jazz great Herbie Mann. Willa also wrote the title song for the original movie “Hairspray” as well as music and songs for the Olympics, ABC-TV sports and the AMC-TV show “Mad Men.” This program is funded by New York State Senator Michael Gianaris.
