Black History Month: Sunday Concerts presents Atiba Kwabena Wilson & Songhai Djeli

This folkloric ensemble will pay tribute to our ancestors with a performance of Afrikan music and dance! Atiba Kwabena Wilson is the founder and artistic director of Songhai Djeli. Founded in 1985, this folkloric ensemble repertoire is based upon traditional Afrikan approaches to music, poetry and storytelling. Wilson is a musician, published poet and storyteller who has been a featured artist at the African Arts Festival and at the FESTAM International Music Festival in Dakar, Senegal. He has studied the folklore of Afrika and its western-hemispheric diaspora.
