Women's History Month: Shades of Truth Theatre presents Women of the Blues

Join us for a captivating performance by Shades of Truth Theatre in tribute to the life and work of Rose McCoy including a performance of some of her music by the Angel Milyon Ensemble. Rose Marie McCoy (April 19, 1922 – January 20, 2015) was singer and a prolific songwriter during the 1950s and 1960s. She published more than 800 songs that would be recorded by such legendary artists as Big Maybelle, James Brown, Ruth Brown, Nat King Cole, Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, and Ike & Tina Turner.
