His salvation is his friendship with fell delinquent Turner who's convinced that Elwood is naive the world is crooked, and to survive one must scheme and avoid trouble. As life at the Academy takes a perilous turn, the conflict between Elwood's ideals and Turner's skepticism leads to a decision with repercussions that will echo throughout the decades. This is based on a real story of a reform school that operated for 111 years and destroyed the lives of thousands of children.
