Creative Aging: Life Writing with Ari Satok

In these sessions, we will focus each week on a different theme, central to our lived experience of the world. These themes will be happiness, courage, and gratitude. Instructor Ari Satok starts each class by bringing in a piece of writing for us to read and discuss. He then introduces the weekly theme and provides various quotes, cartoons, and other artistic reflections on that theme to spark discussion among the group. The discussion is followed by a short writing lesson, after which participants are assigned a prompt to write on, focused on their personal experiences. Through these sessions, participants will improve their writing skills and write beautiful pieces about their lives, while building community and learning from the richness of their classmates' wisdom and life stories.
