These English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses will help customers build the language skills they need to have a successful career.
Participants will:
- Learn how to create resumes and cover letters
- Learn Interview techniques
- Feel more comfortable communicating in interviews and on the job
- Be able to make suggestions and communicate better with supervisors and peers
- Prepare presentation and reports
- Learn how to use technology in the workplace
- Understand workplace safety
ESOL for Healthcare
ESOL for Healthcare combines English language instruction with healthcare vocabulary. This program helps participants understand the various healthcare career pathways. Participants in ESOL for Healthcare also receive free training to become a certified Home Health Aide. ESOL for Healthcare also offers career counseling, educational counseling, case management, citizenship instruction, and social services referrals.
ESOL for Healthcare is for intermediate and advanced ESOL students and requires a commitment of 20 hours per week for 15 weeks.
ESOL for Technology Careers
ESOL for Technology Careers combines English language instruction with technology training and tech sector vocabulary. The program helps participants to understand the various technology career pathways and the skills and training required.
Participants in ESOL for Technology Careers also receive free training and certification testing to become certified Microsoft Office Specialists in Word or Excel. Certification in Word or Excel will give participants basic skills to start an entry-level job or move onto advanced technology training for higher-level jobs. ESOL for Technology Careers also offers career counseling, educational counseling, case management, citizenship instruction, and social services referrals.
ESOL for Technology Careers is for intermediate and advanced ESOL students and requires a commitment of 17 hours per week for 15 weeks.
